Benefits of SenseIT IoT

There are many benefits to SenseIT IoT. For example, knowing where your shipments are around the world at any given time, when they will be delivered to the destination based upon current GPS locations, and how the shipments were handled by your carrier.  Specific sensor measurements are temperature, humidity, three points of axis (tilt), and shock , and more measurements types will be added easily to SenseIT IoT as they become available.  All the data is stored and processed in the cloud allowing you access to the information anywhere anytime. SenseIT alerts you if a measurement threshold is exceeded and can predict conditions that are becoming unhealthy for your products, allowing to take corrective action before the product is compromised. SenseIT combines your ERP shipment information with the sensor data to provide a complete picture of the shipment in real-time.

Upon completion of a shipment, SenseIT generates a Certificate of Product Handling (COPH) listing the details of the entire shipment.  The COPH can be delivered to your customer along with the product or, in the case of a compromised shipment, the certificate can be used to support a claim with your carrier.

Overtime, SenseIT will accumulate a large volume of historical data, “big data”.  Using the power of SAP HANA database management system, this repository of big data becomes a powerful tool for analyzing your firm’s shipment practices and carrier selections.

  • Know location of shipment up to predefined message time.
    Every 1 6,12 hours    You establish the message time.
  • View the shipments on a geospatial map where distressed shipments show in yellow or red.
  • Establish tolerances for all measures – maximum and minimum thresholds
  • Know temperature and temperature trends (approaching threshold hot or cold)
  • Know humidity
  • Know tilt based upon three axis; X, Y Z
  • Know if shocked or dropped, set G force tolerance

  • Be alerted if tolerances are exceeded, be able to respond in real time
  • Maintain history of all measures for the complete shipment
  • Maintain history of vendor performance over many shipments
  • Analyze shipment data history to improve shipment performance
  • Combine sensor data with your ERP data for one view of shipment planned and actual
  • Generate a Certificate of Product Handling (COPH) showing details of the complete shipment, all measures to provide to your customer
  • Missed Message – Be alerted if a scheduled message is not sent; sensor failure, battery dead, sensor moved.

  • GEO Route – Off Route – Predefine the shipment route by GPS and time.
    Be alerted if shipment is “out of bounds”. The reasons are weather, construction, traffic, theft, hijacking.

  • GEO Route – Temperature – View the planned route and temperatures along the route.
    Compare the temperatures on the route with temperature trend of the content.  Predict and react to future high or low temperature issues. (Future Phase)
  • GEO Route – Security – View the planned route as it is going through a “high risk” zone.
    Plan, react and respond accordingly. (Future Phase)
  • Other alerts are added to SenseIT as new sensors are released.
